The National Food Chain Safety Office (NÉBIH) is a service of the Ministry of Health and Social Services. Its objective is to improve the health and safety of the population by improving the surveillance of food-borne illnesses and injuries, by promoting healthy diets and by facilitating the implementation of safety measures in the food chain, from farm to table.
NÉBIH provides information and guidelines to the public on how to prevent and how to treat food-borne illnesses and injuries. It also promotes the adoption of healthy diets and the implementation of safety measures in the food chain. The program is intended to help the public, especially children and the elderly, as well as workers in the food chain.
